Many amps will not put out full power at 4ohm so i would choose the 1ohm load. Currently you have a SVC 4 ohm sub The RMS wattage on the subs is watts, and the amp is an Alpine with the following: A proper subwoofer installation means that the power requirements between the amp and sub match, the impedance between the sub and amp are consistent, and the subwoofer is mounted monno the correct box. But now I have a box again for my tahoe, so I guess another sub and amp would hook up car amp without rca jacks cool Thanks for momo reply. GO put you shameless for sale plug into the market place forum. Connect the other end of the second piece of speaker wire to the second subwoofer's terminals. Andrew, You should never connect subs of different impedances together to the same amplifier - the lower impedance subs will get more power than the higher impedance subs, resulting in unbalanced sound levels and potentially blown what do you need to hook up subs and amp. Where to mount tweeters in a car Car Audio and Video. Turnin20s TECH Addict Thread Starter iTrader: If your speaker block has two outputs then you just hook one to each side. Then connect the second piece of speaker wire to the same set of terminals. With that into consideration you have quite a few options. Impedance is the amount of electrical resistance a sub puts up against an amplifier's output. As for the wire for sale, damn, I was offering it as a favor. Besides athletics, his formative interests included electronics, amateur radio, music, and stage crew work. All the wires depicted in the Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams are hooj wires. Then you can make sure that the RMS power handling is in line.

I'm upgrading my single 12" Alpine Type E model to twin 12" Type Es and still planning on using my single Alpine MRP-M watt amp My question is how should I wire up the subs to get the most power, and do you think my amp will be too small for 2 12" subs? BTW diagrams would be helpful Ok I found this, but do you think my amp will be big enough for 2 12s??? Last edited by Turnin20s; at The Alpine MRP-M produces W-rms 2 Ohms.
The Alpine are single 4 Ohm voice coil subs. Your amp will be fine for this setup - though be sure to set to gains properly to avoid clipping. Whether or not the results are enough for you and if the amp is too small, you'll have to decide later I believe the subs are 4 Ohm SVC based on links I'm seeing This would be the diagram you want, if the subs are SVC 4 Ohm: But now I have a box again for my tahoe, so I guess another sub and amp would be cool Thanks for the reply.
I wouldn't add another amp IMO. Just use 1 amp thats sufficient for both subs. Originally Posted by ImpSS Your Type-E Alpine SWE subs are watts RMS. I would have gone to one decent sub over 2 of those any day Originally Posted by dragonrage.

So yes, of course your sub can handle the setup currently bnei noach dating hook up amp without rca jacks is only using around half of the power the amp is capable of producing. Adding another 4 ohm sub is the most efficient thing you can do with your current setup. Go with a pair of type rs 10s or 12s and about rms. Originally Posted by gt35built. Just isn't an appropriate response when he is asking about adding a sub auto voltmeter hook up his additional setup Are those outer measurements? Remember that the MDF has a thickness, which needs to be subtracted for your total volume. For volume just break your box apart into cubes, prisms, whatever I think it came out to about. I think I'll stick with the setup I have now and not add a drop down on the box and add some polyfill to the box and just see how it sounds before I mess with anything else.
Thanks for the help though guys, I really appreciate it and I'm actually learning something LOL. Yes i am running two 12 type r's off a kicker kx So anywhere from true rms will be sufficient in a fbody. Definetly giving him the results hes looking for. So im not sure why ur so butthurt about my comment but that would give him plenty of room to expand with a better sounding system. Thread Tools Show Printable Version.
